Summary
Aura analyzes a photo of your face (and, if visible, your upper body) to generate personalized style recommendations. To perform this analysis, the selected photo is securely transmitted to a third-party AI service. Aura requests your explicit consent before any photo leaves your device.
Aura does not operate its own servers and does not permanently store your photos or analysis results. Our AI providers are configured so that your photo is not retained after processing and is not used to train AI models.
Information We Collect
Aura collects only the information necessary to provide its features. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:
- A photo you choose using your camera or photo library.
- AI-generated face analysis results.
- Anonymous purchase and subscription information managed by RevenueCat.
- Local preferences stored on your device, such as language, theme, onboarding status, and AI consent.
Aura does not require you to create an account and does not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or other personal profile information.
1. Face Data We Collect
Photo Image
When you take a photo or select one from your photo library, Aura resizes the image (maximum width 640 px, JPEG format). Only after you provide your explicit consent, the image is securely transmitted for AI analysis.
The image may contain:
- Your face
- Facial geometry visible in the image
- Your upper body if visible
AI Analysis Results
The AI service returns:
- Face shape classification (Oval, Round, Square, Unknown)
- Observations about visible facial features (eyes, nose, lips, jawline, cheekbones)
- Optional body or silhouette observations
- Confidence score
- Personalized style recommendations
Aura does not create or store:
- Biometric templates
- Face embeddings
- Face-recognition identifiers
Aura does not use your photo to identify you.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your photo is used only to generate your personal style analysis.
Specifically:
- The selected photo is sent as input to the AI model.
- The AI generates analysis results.
- Results are displayed only within the app.
- Results remain only in the app's temporary memory during the current session.
Aura does not:
- Build user profiles
- Sell personal data
- Use your photo for advertising
- Store your photo on Aura servers
AI Model Training and Retention
We have configured our AI providers so that your photo is not used to train AI models and is not retainedafter your analysis is generated. Our requests are sent through OpenRouter with data logging disabled, and are processed by Google's Gemini API under terms that do not permit the use of submitted content for model training.
3. Who Receives Your Data
| Recipient | Data Shared | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| OpenRouter, Inc. | Selected photo (Base64 JPEG) and analysis prompt | Securely routes the request to the AI model |
| Google LLC (Gemini AI) | Photo received through OpenRouter | Performs face analysis and generates recommendations |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Anonymous subscription information, anonymous app user identifier, limited device information | Subscription management only (does not receive your photo) |
The AI request contains only:
- The selected photo
- The analysis prompt
- Technical application attribution headers
Aura does not send:
- Your name
- Email address
- Contacts
- Precise location
- Phone number
OpenRouter, Google, and RevenueCat act as our processors for the purposes described above. We have confirmed that each of these providers offers protections for your data that are the same as or equal to those described in this policy. You can review their policies here:
4. Data Storage and Retention
On Your Device
Aura stores locally:
- Language preference
- Theme preference
- Onboarding completion status
- AI consent preference
Downloaded photos are saved to your device's photo library only when you explicitly choose to save them.
Aura Servers
Aura does not operate servers and does not store:
- Photos
- Analysis results
- User accounts
Third-Party AI Providers
Your photo is processed by OpenRouter and Google Gemini solely to generate your requested analysis and is not retained by them after processing, in accordance with the configuration described in Section 2 (data logging disabled; no use of submitted content for model training).
5. Consent
Before the first AI analysis, Aura clearly explains:
- What information will be sent
- Which third-party services receive the information
- Why the information is required
No photo is transmitted unless you explicitly tap "Agree & analyse" on the consent screen.
If you choose "Not now" (or dismiss the consent screen), no data is transmitted and no AI analysis occurs.
You may withdraw your consent at any time through: Settings → AI photo analysis consent. If consent is withdrawn, Aura will request your permission again before the next analysis.
6. Camera and Photo Library Access
Aura requests access to your camera and photo library only when you choose to capture or select a photo for analysis. These permissions are never used for any other purpose.
7. Security
Aura protects your information by:
- Using encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections
- Downscaling and compressing photos before transmission
- Sending requests with provider data logging disabled
- Avoiding storage of photos on Aura servers
Aura never stores your submitted photos on its own infrastructure.
8. Your Rights
You may:
- Decline AI analysis at any time.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.
- Stop using the AI analysis feature without affecting the rest of the application.
Because Aura does not store your photos or analysis results on its own servers, and our AI providers do not retain your photo after processing, there is no stored photo data to export or delete. For any information retained by third-party providers under their own policies, you may contact those providers directly using the links in Section 3.

9. Children's Privacy
Aura is not directed toward children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction).
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our data practices or legal obligations change. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will always indicate the most recent revision.
