Poised - Privacy Policy

Summary

Poised is an AI communication coach. To generate drafts, coaching, translations, and practice replies, the text you enter is securely transmitted to a third-party AI service. Poised requests your explicit consent before any of your text leaves your device.

Poised does not operate its own servers and does not permanently store your messages or the AI results. There is no account and no sign-up.

Information We Collect

Poised collects only the information necessary to provide its features. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

The text you enter (the situation, message, or conversation you want help with).
AI-generated results (drafts, coaching notes, translations, practice replies, and debriefs).
Anonymous purchase and subscription information managed by RevenueCat.
Local preferences stored on your device, such as language, theme, onboarding status, and AI consent.

Poised does not require you to create an account and does not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or other personal profile information.

1. Data We Collect

Text You Provide

When you use Draft, Bridge, or Practice, you enter text describing your situation, the message you want help with, or the conversation you want to translate or rehearse. Only after you provide your explicit consent, this text is securely transmitted for AI processing.

AI Results

The AI service returns a suggested draft, coaching (what to say, what to avoid, and why), tone adjustments, translations, practice role-play replies, and a debrief. These results are shown only within the app and are not stored on any server operated by Poised.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your text is used only to generate your requested result. Specifically:

The text you enter is sent as input to the AI model.
The AI generates a response.
Results are displayed only within the app.
Your history is stored only on your device.

Poised does not build user profiles, sell personal data, use your text for advertising, use your text to train AI models, or store your text on Poised servers.

3. Who Receives Your Data

To provide its features, Poised shares data with the following third parties:

The AI request contains only the text you entered, the analysis prompt, and technical application attribution headers. Poised does not send your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or phone number.

OpenRouter, Anthropic, and RevenueCat process data according to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies.

4. Data Storage and Retention

On Your Device

Poised stores locally your language preference, theme preference, onboarding status, AI consent preference, and your message history. Deleting the app, or clearing your history within the app, removes this content from your device.

Poised Servers

Poised does not operate servers and does not store your text, AI results, or user accounts.

Third-Party AI Providers

Your text is processed by OpenRouter and Anthropic (Claude) solely to generate your requested result. Retention of submitted data is governed by their respective privacy policies.

5. Consent

Before the first AI request, Poised clearly explains what information will be sent, which third-party service receives it, and why it is required. No text is transmitted unless you explicitly tap Continue on the consent dialog. If you choose Cancel, no data is transmitted and no AI processing occurs.

You may withdraw your consent at any time in Settings. If consent is withdrawn, Poised will request your permission again before the next AI request.

6. Microphone Access

Poised requests access to your microphone and speech recognition only when you choose to dictate text by voice. These permissions are never used for any other purpose.

7. Security

Poised protects your information by using encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections for all data transmitted to the AI service, and by avoiding storage of your text on Poised infrastructure.

8. Your Rights

Decline AI processing at any time.
Withdraw your consent at any time.
Stop using the AI features without affecting the rest of the app.

Because Poised does not store your text or results on its own servers, there is no server-side data for Poised to export or delete. For information retained by third-party providers, please contact those providers directly.

9. Children's Privacy

Poised is not directed toward children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction).

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our data practices or legal obligations change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will always indicate the most recent revision.
